I didn't ride yesterday, as we went to Michelle's hometown of Charlotte to see her sister Colette who is up from her home in Florida for a few days visiting her parents. So it was good to get back to it today, and I got up and rode early, starting about 7:30 on our stationary bike, and riding 22.3 miles in 1:45.
On Friday I watched the baseball movie Field of Dreams, but after I posted high praise of it, one friend offered a contrary opinion, saying, "Give me Bull Durham." Deciding to stay with baseball, I decided to give Bull Durham a try—I thought I had seen it before, but as I watched it, I didn't recall it. It was OK, but I would sum up the comparison by saying that, in my view, Field of Dreams is beautifully crafted poetry, whereas Bull Durham is, by comparison, gritty graffiti. Also, I find Field of Dreams to be MUCH more thoroughly about baseball than is Bull Durham.
